Natalie Portman Speaks Out About Galliano's Anti-Semitic Remarks (VIDEO)

World reknown designer Christian Dior recently fired John Galliano after a video surfaced online on Monday that shows the designer spitting out anti-Semitic remarks. Natalie Portman decided Monday evening to speak out about her feelings about what Galliano said.

Galliano launches into a tirade at the Paris bar La Perle making statements like: “I love Hitler” and telling others in the bar: “people like you would be dead…your mothers, your forefathers” would all be “gassed.”

It is unknown when the video was recorded.

Natalie Portman serves as Christian Dior’s most well known celebrity endorser. Backstage at the Oscars on Sunday night she would not answer questions about Galliano’s suspension. Monday evening though, she released a statement, condemning the designer’s alleged rants.

“I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today,” Portman said. “In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”

Well said, Ms. Portman!
