Rumor has it that Jessica Simpson will be busy with bridal business very soon – but not quite in the way you’d expect.
A source tells In Touch Weekly that the singer/actress/new mom/designer (seen here in a pic from early in her pregnancy) will be expanding her successful clothing line to include wedding gowns.
“A wedding line is something she’s always wanted to do,” says the unnamed insider. “She is talented and knows what women want to wear.”
The source adds that Jessica’s own curviness will no doubt inspire her to create designs that flatter women who aren’t rail-thin. Fashion Star stylist Daniel Musto chimes in that the style Jess chooses for her own wedding will influence the line – and a spectacular gown will have brides-to-be flocking to buy copies for themselves.
Speaking of Jessica’s curves and wedding, the second bit of gossip making the rounds this week is considerably less pleasant.According to OK!, Eric Johnson wants to put off their plans to wed this summer for the sake of his fiancee’s mental health. The story claims Jess is “tortured” about not being able to drop her baby weight quickly enough to fulfill her multimillion-dollar contract with Weight Watchers.
“He’s doing it because he cares about her,” says a source. “Eric says the pressure to get thin is playing havoc with Jessica’s mood swings – she gets super short-tempered and emotional.” As a result, he reportedly wants to put off the date indefinitely until her body and frame of mind have improved.
This story, however, holds about as much water as a sieve. GossipCop spoke to a friend of Jessica’s who says that not only is the rumor phony, but that the couple never planned to marry this summer in the first place.
In fact, we reported on another tabloid story a couple of months ago that said she may have settled on a December 12 wedding date because of its way-cool numerological association: 12/12/12.
Is that any more true than the canceled-summer-nuptials piece? Time will tell. But hey, she could always go with January 3 for a 1/3/13 wedding.
By the way, is no one interested in little Maxwell Drew anymore?
