Everyone knows that babies need a ton of supplies, but you don’t fully appreciate that need until you have an infant at home and see how quickly they run through diapers, clothes and bottles.
Now imagine being a parent of a baby and losing most or all of those supplies after a tornado, fire, flood or other disaster.
It’s a scary thought – and even scarier for the many parents who face this reality every year. (Did you know that 90 percent of American children live in areas at risk for natural disasters?)
That’s why new mom Hilary Duff is delighted to be the spokesperson for the new JOHNSON’S BABY CARES campaign, whose mission is to help support and promote the health of children and families.
In partnership with Save the Children, the makers of Johnson’s Baby products will be funding and supporting a number of important projects over the next few years. This year, the partners will be distributing thousands of JOHNSON’S Baby “Care Kits” – packages of essential baby supplies – to families affected by disaster.
The company is also donating money to Save the Children’s programming, such as the Child Friendly Spaces which give mothers and children a safe place to recover, regroup and play following a catastrophe.
“As a new mom, I am inspired by this worthy cause, which aims to give all moms a chance to not only experience the joy of a healthy baby, but also an opportunity to be together and enjoy moments of normalcy during crisis situations,” says Hilary Duff. “I appreciate the opportunity to join JOHNSON’S Baby and Save the Children to offer a helping hand and make a difference.”
You can make a difference, too. Here’s how -
From now until June 10, whenever you purchase any JOHNSON’S Baby product and redeem a 50-cent coupon at retail stores, 25 cents will go to Save the Children.
Throughout the year, the company will be offering other ways to get involved. In the meantime, you can visit the JOHNSON’S Baby page on Facebook to learn more about the charitable platform and how you can help.
It’s great to see that Hilary is not only a loving mom, but also involved in helping other mothers in their time of greatest need!
