NHL Ottawa Senators Mourn Tragic Loss of Luke Richardson's DaughterEmma Brady
The Ottawa Senators are mourning the loss of assistant coach Luke Richardson ‘s daughter. Daron Richardson, 14, was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead on Friday.
“There was an accident at their home and Daron tried to take her life by hanging,” a statement by the team reads. “Her mother found her in the basement, and Daron was rushed to the hospital by ambulance where she remained in critical condition in ICU until she succumbed to her injuries.”
Luke Richardson is a longtime NHL veteran who had played 21 seasons in the NHL with Toronto, Edmonton, Philadelphia, Columbus, Tampa Bay and Ottawa. He retired in 2008 with a career record of 35 goals and 166 assists in 1,417 games. He has been an assistant coach for Ottawa since his retirement from play.
