Nicole Kidman: "My Daughters Affect My Decisions"

Once you become a mother, your world is no longer exclusively your own. Everything from your schedule to your meals is planned with your children in mind.

That’s the case even when you’re an Oscar-winning actress. Nicole Kidman explains in the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter that her two youngest children, daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, influence her work choices every day.

“I recently bought the rights to a few books I hope to produce films of,” she tells the magazine. “I may not star in them — I have two little daughters now, which affect all my decisions.” (Of her two adult children, Connor and Isabella, she says only, “I utterly respect their beliefs.”)

A hands-on mother, Nicole even brought her girls with her to southern France for half a year when she was filming Grace of Monaco.

Unlike other celeb parents who live the high life in L.A. or New York, Nicole and husband Keith Urban enjoy a quiet life in their homes in Australia and Nashville. She doesn’t even keep a Twitter account, and only watches a few selected TV shows, like Homeland and American Idol (where Keith is a judge).

“I’m just a nice Southern girl,” she says. “It’s such an easy lifestyle.”
