No Kidding! 13 Celebs Who DON'T Want Children, Thank You (Photos)

Fergie enjoys being footloose and child-free.

There’s been a lot of speculation over the last week over whether Fergie might be pregnant with her first child. Her rounder figure and face appeared to be a dead giveaway.

And, after all, she did mention not long ago that she and husband Josh Duhamel were ready to start a family.

Well, hold the phone! The Black Eyed Peas singer told MTV News last week that “It’s not happening yet, I can tell you definitely. [W]e want to have a family, it’s in the cards, but it’s just not this second.”

She adds that she’s enjoying her time off from touring, which gives her time to kick back and focus on her home and marriage. “We like each other, we like hanging out together, we have fun,” she explained.

But Fergie is far from alone. Plenty of famous folks are either holding off on baby plans or saying no to children, period.

Why? Well, some like having the freedom to sleep in and dine at places without coloring-book menus. And others have simply never seen themselves as the maternal or paternal type.

To them, I say – great! Being a parent is a wonderful, beautiful, amazing experience, but it’s not the only way to make your life rich and happy. My friends who chose not to have children are just as content with their lot as my mom/dad friends, and they resent any suggestion that they’re somehow “selfish” or “missing out.”

Here are some well-known figures who have decided that parenting isn’t a priority for them. Let’s celebrate their choice, and perhaps even envy them a little because their afternoon today won’t be spent cleaning up an atomic poop, calming a tantrum or watching Dora wandering around the jungle for the hundredth time.
