Sure, Judge Bruno Tonioli was harsh and I thought disrespectful to Michael Bolton by saying his jive was among the worst in Dancing with the Stars history and giving him a “3,” but what’s a public apology, which Bolton apparently is demanding, going to do? Apparently we’ll never find out cause DWTS ain’t issuing one, capiche? Here’s the program’s official stance:
“While we respect the feelings of our celebrities and dancers, we don’t feel Bruno should be expected to apologize for doing his job. Bruno’s role as a judge is to give his honest opinions on the quality of the dances he’s judging, which is what he did in this case.”
Well, sure, but he could have been a tad more tactful. But if we start censoring the judges next thing you know we’ll be demanding Brooke Burke pretend she has a personality (or at the very least a pulse) and then the whole show dynamic changes. Perhaps Bruno will be kind enough to offer a non-public apology and that will satisfy Bolton.
