Want to whip up a delicious and nutritious meal for your child? Well Norah O’Donnell has got you covered! The MSNBC chief Washington, D.C. correspondent has teamed up with hubby and professional chef Geoff Tracy to bring you their creative culinary masterpiece, Baby Love: Healthy, Delicious Meals for Your Baby and Toddler.
The cookbook author and mother of three explains the importance of keeping the future in mind when deciding what foods to feed your baby. Rapid brain development, as well as emerging lifelong food habits, are both very important processes that occur during the first year of life. “[It] will affect them for the rest of their life,” O’Donnell explains. “They say from nine to 18 months you’ll have this opportunity that you’ll never have again to put almost anything in their mouth; That’s important,” she adds. “You’re training a palate to like different things.”
The couple, who has reportedly never purchased a jar of pre-prepared baby food, explains they started this project after being unable to find a simple but healthy cookbook for baby food. “The goal is to help millions of busy parents out there like us … especially parents who want to champion a healthier approach to food,” O’Donnell explains. “This is so easy. It’s green and it’s so much cheaper. It’s really a no-brainer.” This cookbook gives the Gerber Baby a run for its money!
