Not So Rosy: "Bachelor" Host Chris Harrison and Wife Are Splitting

Chris Harrison is now a Bachelor himself.

We have a hands-down winner of the Most Ironic Divorce of the Year Award.

Chris Harrison, the host of The Bachelor, has separated from Gwen, his wife of 18 years, according to Us Weekly.

The couple told the magazine, “Though we have made this incredibly difficult decision to separate, our love and mutual respect remain, and we look forward to sharing the lives of our wonderful children.”

They have a son, 9-year-old Joshua, and a daughter, 7-year-old Taylor.

The news is especially poignant in light of the fact that a new season of The Bachelorette is about to start, and that the newest Bachelor couple, Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson, seem to be overcoming their initial troubles and enjoying their relationship.

No details have emerged yet on the reason behind the split, but let’s hope there’s nothing too unsavory going on. Chris was once accused of flirting with a Bachelor producer’s wife, but he denied any wrongdoing.

It just makes sense that anyone involved in a show about relationships has to be extra-careful not to get involved in any potentially embarrassing romantic entanglements.

And that caution has to be doubled when there are kids in the picture.

In the meantime, we wish both Chris and Gwen more roses in their future.
