It’s a lesson that was missing in Monday’s sitdown between “family heads” Caroline Manzo and Danielle Staub on The Real Housewives o New Jersey which began as a “friendly” conversation aimed at putting the past behind them and quickly broke down into a hostility filled evening that could have erupted into violence.
Once my kids hit the point that names are being called, it’s only a matter of moments before fits can start flying. With Manzo and Staub the results could have turned scary quickly as Danielle arrived with armed guards as her evening escorts. (Another lesson I teach my boys is to stick to their words and leave the weapons alone!)
From Caroline’s corner, she broke down and called Danielle’s life a joke and reiterated her comments from last season that Danielle is garbage. For her part Danielle didn’t exactly play nice herself equating Caroline’s red hair to that of a clown. Definitely sounds like a fight between my 7-year-old and 10-year-old! Time to play nice girls.
It’s a lesson that dawned on Caroline a bit late and that she appears to regret in retrospect. “I’m not proud of the names I called her; my remarks were cruel and childish,” she writes on her Bravo TV blog. “But, that’s my truth. Makes absolutely no sense but, it is what it is. I said what I said out of frustration and anger. I was speaking to someone who was looking me dead in the eye and lying to me. Not only that, there was absolutely no accountability on her part at all.”
As for Danielle there’s no apologies, there never are when it comes to Ms. Staub. She’s just moving on with or without the other housewives. “It’s not over yet. Keep watching, there is MORE to come!” she writes on her blog. ” To all my fans and friends, thank you for your support and kindness I appreciate each one of you greatly! To all who do not know me, never cared to, and do not relate to me or my journey, thank you for taking so much time out of your life to let me know. Proves me right – love me or hate me, you’re still paying attention.”
Danielle always reminds me of another lesson I have passed on to the boys – YOU DON”T MESS WITH CRAZY!
