With Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez presumably headed to the altar (or at least a two-month engagement, followed by a splashy, tabloid-fueled breakup, if past seasons of “The Bachelorette” are any model), what next for the suitors who didn’t find love?
Another reality show, of course. On Monday ABC will premiere the new “Bachelorette”-”Bachelor” spinoff “Bachelor Pad,” which will plop former contestants in a house together where they’ll face challenges and compete to win $250,000. And maybe fall in love.
Continue reading for the scoop on who’ll be looking for love all over again and a sneak peak at the show.
The new edition will include 19 past contestants, and many of them are from the two most recent editions of the finding-love franchise, which also not coincidentally generated the show’s highest ratings in years.
There will be challenges a la “Big Brother” in this new show, but many of the contestants are also there to find a mate and hopefully start planning for a family, which obviously didn’t work out so well for them in their first round.
Here’s a look at some key cast members, as well as a sneak peak of two “Bachelorette” nemesis meeting up at the new pad.
Craig M. (season six of “The Bachelorette”) He unsuccessfully wooed Ali, but he had more success getting under the skin of Jonathan N., aka “The Weatherman.”
Jonathan N. (season six of “The Bachelorette”) He told Ali to avoid the “dangerous” Craig M. But then he was sent packing, too.
Kiptyn (season five of “The Bachelorette”) Who could forget the way Jillian broke his heart … or the way his abs looked in the hot tub?
Tenley (season 14 of “The Bachelor”) Jake jilted her for Vienna, but those two didn’t last long. Can Tenley, a huge fan favorite, find her true soul mate?
Gwen (season two of “The Bachelor”) Aaron Burge broke her heart years ago. Now she’s the wily veteran (she refused to give her age!) amidst a pack of younger gals.
