Octavia Spencer: I Need To Lose Weight (Photos)

Octavia wants to lose 15 pounds

Actress Octavia Spencer might be on top of her game right now, but according to her, she’s not loving the way she looks. Octavia, who is this award season’s “It” girl, after having won the best Supporting Actress Award at Sunday night’s SAG Awards, admits that she would like to lose about 15 pounds.

According to Us Weekly, Octavia says, I am working out with a trainer, but I’m not trying to be a thin mint.”

“I’m just trying to be healthy and look good for me. So another 15 pounds and I will be fine,” she adds.

The actress, who had on a form-fitting Tadashi dress on at the awards show (in which she looked gorgeous), also added, “It’s our society that has told [women] and continues to tell them that when you reach a certain age, you are no longer valuable. When you reach a certain weight, you are [no longer] valuable.”

Kudos to Octavia for being honest about her weight and how she feels. While many media outlets love to pick on actresses for being “too skinny,” there’s really nothing healthy about being “too heavy,” too. What do you think?
