Octo-Mom Nadya Suleman Is Going On Welfare

Nadya Suleman, otherwise known as Octo-Mom, who famously gave birth to 8 babies while already having 6 children at home, is going on welfare, according to RadarOnline.com. The mom of 14 had once hoped that her unique situation would be reality tv fodder and that she would be able to sell her story, but that never happened. Hoping that her life would be as appealing as other families with large broods, like The Gosselin’s or The Duggar’s, Suleman even wrote a book, unfortunately no one cares to publish it.

A source close to Suleman told RadarOnline.com that “Nadya is running out of money very quickly, she’s still hoping to pull off a deal that will pay her a fortune but at this point it just doesn’t seem possible.”   “She was hoping for merchandizing deals, but those never came through,” the source said. “And she’s written a book but no publisher wants it.”

Suleman is dangerously close to not being able to pay her mortgage and even though her father bought her home there is no more he can do for her.  “Nadya’s parents have done a lot to help her despite their difficult relationship,” the source added.   “But they aren’t rich and they’re struggling too. Her father bought the house but he can’t support her.” “She’s going on welfare and it’s going to be very soon.  There’s just no choice. She’s running out of money and those kids need to eat.”

I have a hard time figuring out if I feel sorry for her or not. I mean there are lots of people in this country who have children and struggle to support them without the promise of a reality tv career. But just this week Kate Gosselin is on the cover of People Magazine and I have to wonder what the difference is between the two families? Is it because Suleman blatantly courted press and tv coverage for her large brood, and made it publicly known that she was looking for ‘sponsorship’ for her family? I just have a hard time seeing the difference between her and Kate Gosselin. Can you?
