2011 Oscar Nominations: 'King's Speech', 'True Grit' Most Awards

The-Kings-Speech-SAGThe list of nominees for the 2011 Academy Awards were announced this morning. The King’s Speech received a whopping 12 nominations and True Grit received 10 nominations! I’m so happy about The King’s Speech because it is my favorite movie of this year and one of the best movies I’ve seen in years.

Here are the 2011 Oscar nominees for Best Picture:

Best Motion Picture
Black Swan
The Fighter
The King’s Speech
The Kids are All Right
The Social Network
127 Hours
Toy Story 3
True Grit
Winter’s Bone

Some actors and films were snubbed by the Academy this year, two actors who I felt deserved an Oscar nod were Julianne Moore for her role in The Kids are All Right and Mark Wahlberg for his work in The Fighter.

The 83rd Academy Awards nominations announcement was made this morning at 5:30 a.m. PT / 8:30 a.m. ET. Academy President Tom Sherak and last year’s Supporting Actress winner, Mo’Nique, revealed the nominees.
