The first opportunity “Your OWN Channel” offers is a chance for the community to upload their questions for Dr. Phil, Suze Orman and Dr. Oz for the four-part primetime special “Ask Oprah’s All-Stars.”
In a statement to the media, Oprah Winfrey talks about why OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network will be different from other cable channels:

For me, the launch of OWN is the evolution of the work I’ve been doing on television all these years and a natural extension of my show.”

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! This year I have told myself that I am going to belive in me with all I have. I am just a simple man married with a 4 year old girl. My family and I are forever fans of so much that you have done. I am just writting today because I hope that maybe these words will find there way to the heart of someone that needs it this is the first poem I ever wrote my it fill your heart and bless someone in a special way.
Ugly feet

I would sit in my grandma house for hours; I would sit there and stare at this beautiful woman, for she was a woman with so much wisdom and so much joy yet somewhere on her face there was pain somewhere there was suffering.
And she would sit there and recline her chair kicking her feet straight in the air, looking down at me she spoke in her sweet angelic voice “what?”…now at the time I was young and dumb having a loose tongue I said exactly what was on my mind. Now at the time what was on my mind were her feet, “Grandma you got ugly feet corns, calices, your toe nails are cracked and grandma is your pinky toes suppose to be black?”
Realizing what I said I braced myself for the smack but grandma began to laugh. She said “Baby you don’t live to be my age without living through something”
Grandma began to tell me about the mountains of racism that she climbed to get to and from work during boycotts, valleys of segregation that she marched through with Dr. Martin Luther King all the way to the court house steps where she heard his words go through the country touching the heart, minds, and nerves of every man, woman, boy and girl. As she sat there and explained her story it made me realize this was a part of my glory apart of my history and just like grandma it means so so much to me.
It was just a few short days later the good Lord came and took my grandma home now I can remember her funeral it was on a Thursday and I had a speech that I wanted to say but as I got up to make my way my knees were shaking…. my palms were sweating… and my heart was heavy. Heavy with a pain and sorrow cause I knew I wouldn’t see my grandma tomorrow and I as I stood there in front of the church and I looked down upon her final resting place the tears raced down my face to the finish line of my chin, and I looked at my speech having no idea where to began and suddenly it hit me. You know the last moments with my grandma where so so sweet now more than ever I realize my grandma had
