10 Facts You Didnt Know About Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney (Photos)

Mitt Romney

Facts, facts, facts. In this Presidential race, it seems like all we’re hearing about these days are facts: ones that are wrong, and ones that have apparently never been checked.

When it comes to Mitt Romney, there are a few facts out there that only his children and grandchildren can check on, that is. Known as “papa” (or maybe even “big papa” but don’t quote us on that), by his grandchildren, Mitt is a family man who likes to keep his children close and his grandchildren closer. Did you know that during the beginning of his marriage to his wife Ann, they began raising their family in a basement apartment as undergraduates at Brigham Young University? Or that his mother was once a Hollywood actress that put her career on hold to be a stay-at-home mom? Or that Ann Romney (known as “Mamie’) loves to take her granddaughters out for lunch dates to get their nails done, just like many other proud grandmas out there?

While there are probably many things we don’t know about the man who might or might not become the next President of the United States, one thing is for certain: he has one of the most interesting family histories with British, Mexican and Mormon roots (talk about a real American melting pot in one, right?). Check out our top ten facts about Mitt Romney’s family and let us know what you think!
