It’s time for an 80s flashback with the return of Pee Wee Herman!! For those of you young ‘uns out there, Pee Wee Herman is the man who entertained your Generation X parents during their childhoods. We didn’t have a dozen television channels dedicated solely to children’s programming, your folks grew up watching Sesame Street, The Smurfs, and Pee Wee’s Playhouse. Guess what Gen Xers? They’ve all been deemed cool again!
So what is Pee Wee Herman up to in the millenium?
Paul Ruebens was back in his pure Pee Wee form will debuting his brand new Broadway show. starring none-other-than Pee Wee himself , on last night’s episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
During the appearance many of Pee Wee embraced his iconic spirit of childhood fun by jumping on a bike with host Jimmy Fallon and taking a tour around the studio. In a purely deja vu moment, Pee Wee took us back to those childhood days in the Playhouse with his maniacal laughter, the ultimate secret word “baseball” flashing onscreen, and the catch-phrase “I know you are but what am I”.
So kids when you start to think that your Generation X parents a tad bit lame, we grew up watching a grown man dance around in a Playhouse every Saturday morning!
