The "Salesman" Takes a Break: Philip Seymour Hoffman Plays With His Family (Photos)Shana Aborn
Philip Seymour Hoffman may not make the tabloid covers every week or get top placement on the annual style lists, but who cares? He’s an actor’s actor who blows you away with every performance, from his early career appearances in Scent of a Woman and Boogie Nights to his award-winning tours de force in Capote and Doubt.
Currently, he’s bringing audiences to their feet in another star turn as Willy Loman in the latest Broadway revival of Death of a Salesman. (They might as well hand him his Tony right now instead of making him wait till next month.)
But even an acting powerhouse needs to kick back and relax once in a while, and that’s just what Philip did over Memorial Day. He was sighted with his longtime girlfriend, Mimi O’Donnell, and two of their three children, 9-year-old Cooper and 3 1/2-year-old Willa. (5-year-old Tallulah was either camera-shy or on a playdate.)
Definitely dressed for comfort rather than the red carpet, the family had lunch at a Greenwich Village outdoor cafe before walking to a nearby park for a game of basketball.
Have a look at the pictures here – because “attention must be paid to such a man!”

Beating the heat 4 of 5On an unseasonably hot New York May day, your best bet is to go with loose-fitting clothes, like Philip, or a minimal tank and cutoffs, like Mimi.
