Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides: How Will They Hide Penelope Cruz's Baby Bump?

By Emma Brady |

pirates of the caribbean on stranger tidesNow that Penelope Cruz has confirmed that she is 4 1/2 months pregnant with her first child, the crew on the Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides have to come up with some inventive ways to cover up her expanding baby bump.

Since the celebrity go-to options of carrying a huge purse or an oversized shopping bag are out of the question, here are some suggestions on how they can hide Penelope’s baby bump.

Pirate Costume.  The traditional pirate garb of oversized billowy blouses will do a lot in allowing Cruz to hide that bump for now, but as her waistline expands she’ll have to turn to some inventive props.

Pirate Ship Props.  Captain Jack’s ship will offer many options to keep the bump under cover.  Rather than capture her from the waist up, we can expect to see Penelope hiding behind half walls, steering wheels, and conveniently placed sails.

Captain Jack.  As she’ll be playing a potential love interest to Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow, we can expect to see the two get up close and personal.

Prop Watch.  Conveniently placed props will do a lot to distract from the bump.  Barrels, chests, tables will pop up where we least expect them.

How do you think they should disguise her bump?
