Ivanka Trump can be back to work two weeks post-baby?

Ivanka Trump is due with her first baby, a little girl, later this month.

The first time mom thinks that she will be back to work two weeks after her baby’s due date! Is Ivanka Trump deluding herself or can can she really be back into life as usual that quickly after having a baby?

Ivanka Trump said, “I have meetings on the calendar two weeks after my due date, but of course, I’ll have to get to know the baby’s needs first.”

Oh, Ivanka. A two week old sleeps, eats, dirties diapers, and cries.  And not on a schedule, either. Not quite that soon, anyway. So, thinking that she’ll make meetings just two weeks after giving birth is a little optimistic.

Then again, she is Ivanka Trump. She could easily have a swarm of nannies to take care of her daughter.  She’ll probably be back in pre-pregnancy shape by then, too.

Sigh. Sometimes I forget how different celebs are from the rest of us.

  1. Fiona says:

She can do that if her husband doesn’t go back to work, or she has nannies, which I’m sure she will. I always say you can’t know how you’ll feel about staying home or working until you actually have the child. In my case, I would have been WAY too hormonal to go back to work two weeks later!

  2. Shannon says:

The kid will be raised by nannies, so of course she’ll be able to do whatever she wants after giving birth.

  3. Working Mama says:

I had business meetings two weeks after giving birth. With a stay-at-home dad, it was completely doable. We wouldn’t criticize a man for going back to work after two weeks, so why do we criticize a mom? The important thing is for baby to have a good, loving caregiver…and dads count too!
