Kate Middleton and the royal family can not be surprised by this. Apparently a set of photographs of Kate Middleton in a bikini, showing off that royal baby bump, were sold to a tabloid. The photos were not, as you can probably guess, taken with Kate’s knowledge or permission. And the royal family is not thrilled.
“We are disappointed that photographs of the Duke and Duchess on a private holiday look likely to be published overseas,” a spokesman for the couple at St. James’s Palace told People. “This is a clear breach of the couple’s right to privacy.”
The couple thought they were all alone but while on the private island of Mustique last week, a photographer with a very long lens snapped photos of the Duchess of Cambridge while she was vacationing with her husband, Prince William. The duo were photographed walking arm-in-arm with Kate in a bikini and frolicking in the waves. The photos were published in Chi magazine this week as and reportedly will also appear in a U.S. tabloid (no name of which one yet). Chi magazine also published the topless sunbathing photos of Kate last year.
It will be nearly impossible for Kate Middleton to hide not just her baby bump, but baby when it comes. In this era, there will always be market for photos of her, no matter how they were procured.
What would you do if you were Kate Middleton? Would you go into hiding or just deal with having your photo taken without your permission?
