Being a reality star – especially one with a rep as a fashionista and former party girl – ain’t easy. (Well, except for the fame and money part.)
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi found herself the subject of a mean-spirited cyberprank today, and took to Twitter to do some quick damage control.
It began when a post appeared on Reddit featuring a picture of the Jersey Shore star taken from a talk show. Imposed on it was the following quote:
There is NO WAY I’m changing diapers when my baby is born. That is disgusting. That’s what maids are for and babysitters. I don’t have time for that. I’ll have them do that stuff. I’ll be there for the good parts like dressing my son up and making sure he got style. You don’t have to cook or clean or change diapers to be a good mother. My son will have everything that he wants. He’s going to be a little star like his mommy.
Outrageous! Horrible! So unmaternal! So divaloathsome!
…and so very bogus!
Snooki has never said anything of the sort in any interview – TV, magazine or otherwise. Just the opposite, in fact – ever since her pregnancy was made public, the future Mrs. Jionni LaValle has been bubbling over with excitement about becoming a mom. She’s given up drinking and late nights in favor of water and watching Shark Week, and doesn’t seem to be missing the old days a bit.
Early Tuesday afternoon, she tweeted a terse reply that said it all: “FYI, I can’t wait to change my kids sh—y diapers & I don’t even believe in maids. Just sayin.”
Besides, if the Divine Ms. S. really had said something that shocking about motherhood, don’t you think the tabs and news sites would have been all over it like the leopard print on her 6-inch heels?
Just goes to show that you shouldn’t believe everything you read online.
It also proves that some folks seriously need a life.
