Punxsutawney Phil 2011 Steals the Show: What About All The OTHER Gifted Groundhogs?

Punxsutawney Phil

Punxsutawney Phil is like Angelina Jolie on the red carpet, stealing the spotlight and getting all the attention while other equally as glamorous and talented starlets slink by.

But Punxsutawney Phil ain’t the only prognosticating groundhog around. But he was the first. The first Groudhog prediction happened on February 2nd, 1886 and the first public viewing at Gobbler’s Knob happened the next year. Punxsutawney Phil really came into his own when he had his starring role in Groundhog Day along Bill Murray.

Although Punxsutawney Phil seems to be the only groundhog around on this day, there are a whole slew of those weather predicting groundhogs. What other towns claim their own mini meteorologist?
