Her pregnancy was not a planned one – the 43 year old was shocked to find out she was pregnant because she “had bought into all this stuff about, ‘Once you’re over 40…'”, and had “gone through the whole process of letting go of [the idea of having kids]”. Eli’s father is John Wahl, a California-based consultant in the natural foods industry.
Last year after finding out she was pregnant, she realized that her one-bedroom apartment wasn’t going to cut it once the baby arrived. Fortunately, she ran into a producer from The Nate Berkus Show, who asked if she needed any renovation help.
She told the producer she had a “unique little design issue: “I need to take my bedroom and split it into two spaces,” she told PEOPLE.
She loved the room, and will appear on the Nate Berkus Show on Wednesday, June 1st to talk to Nate about life. On the show, she says of the nursery “It’s so good…It’s working!”
Nate replies back: “Most people destroy it as soon as I leave…They get the wrecking ball in!”
My question is this: why wouldn’t she have kept it? It’s not like she has a whole lot of room to change up the design! And her baby is only 9 months old, so of course she still needs a nursery!
