Rachel Zoe Wears Long Black Dress on Hot Hot Day: Hit or Miss? (Photos)

Rachel Zoe Goes Out All in Black

I was always told that you should wear white or light shades on a hot day and that you should avoid wearing black in all forms. Darker hues tend to absorb heat, therefore making them less comfortable. Apparently Rachel Zoe doesn’t follow that rule but than she’s always been a bit of a fashion rebel. But was her long black dress choice really all that unpractical?

By taking a close look at the pictures in our slideshow, you’ll notice that the dress she is wearing is made of a very thin fabric (it is see-through in some shots). She paired the outfit with a pair of platform sandals (which looked to be a size too small) but Rachel Zoe isn’t just a fashion rebel but she apparently doesn’t mind suffering for her art either!

Check out photos of her with her son Skyler right here:

As you can see here, Rachel's dress was more practical that it first looked. It's very sheer and lightweight.

Rachel Zoe went with head to toe black from sunglasses, to dress, to bag, to her shoes. An odd choice for summer, but black is always in style!

The shoes give the added height that Rachel loves, But they don't appear to be the right size. Would you ever wear shoes that were too small for the sake of fashion?
