Teresa and Joe Giudice of the Real Housewives of New Jersey have had some bad luck lately. There have been fights with Danielle, bankruptcy, and having all their possessions about to be auctioned off. On top of all that, Joe Giudice went and got himself arrested for a DWI.
Joe and tried to maintain his innocence saying that he was totally sober when the accident occurred and that he only got his drink on after the accident. He has claimed the only alcohol he had that night were the shots he had after he flipped his truck. Joe’s proclaimed his innocence not just in the courtroom but on the air on the Real Housewives of New Jersey. And all his claims…it seems to have worked.
Originally Joe was sentenced to the maximum sentence for a first offense DWI. His punishment included a driving suspension of one year, a $500 fine, 48 house of driver’s education plus 30 days of community service. His lawyer thought this was all too harsh, especially since his client was supposedly innocent. He appealed. And late last week a judge overturned the judgment. Instead Joe will have his license suspended for seven-months, will have a $300 fine, 12 hours of driver’s ed and the community service was completely whipped from the requirements of the sentence.
Joe and his lawyer were pretty happy with the results. Joe’s attorney states, “I think the judge was more than fair.”
Do you think that is fair, or that he should have gotten a stiffer sentence?
