Reese Witherspoon Admits Parenting Is Not What She Thought It Would BeTheMommyologist
Reese Witherspoon definitely has a lot to celebrate these days. She is at the height of her career, she just married the love of her life, Jim Toth at her recent wedding, and she’s raising two beautiful children.
Reese is on the cover of Vogue magazine’s May issue, and she opened up a bit in her interview with Vogue about being a mom, and parenting in general.
Witherspoon admits that parenting is not exactly what she thought it would be and says, “I thought you make little people in your image. But they are just nothing like me or their father. They are their own individuals.”
Reese’s kids with ex-husband Ryan Philippe, Ava and Deacon, are 11 and 7 years old now. Ava is nearly a teenager, and Witherspoon recognizes that she’s entering a different phase of her life. Of Ava, Reese says, “She’s on the precipice of having her love affairs and her life. She is curious and artistic and very smart. She really surprises me.”
Reese also said that she’s grown up quite a bit since she was in her 20s, and has learned to “expect the unexpected” in life. It’s clear that the unexpected is definitely working for her!
