Reese Witherspoon Tells Vogue: Being a Parent "Is Such a Great Privilege"

By Natalie |

Reese Witherspoon recently married Jim Toth, and the two took the kids with them to Belize on their honeymoon! Why would she want to do that? Well, because she loves being a parent and being around the kids.

35-year-old Witherspoon has two children with ex-husband Ryan Phillipe. She is stunning the cover of Vogue on the May issue, and sat down for a chat about her new husband and her children.

Her daughter Ava is 11-1/2, and son Deacon is 7-1/2. About Ava she tells Vogue: “She’s on the precipice of having her love affairs and her life…She is curious and artistic and very smart. She really surprises me.”

She goes on to say that parenting isn’t exactly what she thought it would be. “I thought you make little people in your image. But they are just nothing like me or their father. They are their own individuals”

“I know it’s corny, but being a parent to me is such a great privilege; that I get to chaperon these beautiful little souls through life. They astound me with their knowledge and their humor.”

Well said, Reese! It is a great privilege!

You can catch the May issue of Vogueon newstands on April 19th.
