Reese Witherspoon: Yes, I Gave My Baby A Redneck NameJoanna Mazewski
I’m sure that we’ve all felt at least one time in our lives that if we could turn back time, we’d probably give our babies a different name that what we’ve initially chosen. And if it’s not the first name, then it’s the middle name that we sometimes rethink and say to ourselves, “Really? I couldn’t have named my child something that didn’t have so many y’s and -lyns in their name?”
Well, Reese Witherspoon might not be thinking that exactly, but she did quite confess that giving her baby what some would say is a redneck name (but if you’re from the south, there’s nothing wrong with that). During a recent appearance on the Chelsea Handler show, Reese and Chelsea (who also happen to be good friends), joked about how Reese wouldn’t tell her if she was having a boy or a girl. Chelsea joked:
“Then you said, I’m pretty sure someone’s reading our texts,’ and I said, Please don’t text me again because I don’t want to be blamed,” Handler recalled.“Then you had the baby and you named it Tennessee and I still couldn’t figure out if it was a boy or a girl.”
Reese then laughed and added, “Or just a redneck!”
Tell us, what do you guys think? Is Tennessee a good Southern name or a little far-fetched? Either way, I love Reese’s sense of humor about it!
