Actor Bill Erwin died of natural causes at age 96, and while he’s appeared on many TV shows and in movies, Seinfeld fans may best remember Bill Erwin for his role as the old man, Sid Fields, in a season 4 episode.
Bill Erwin had a pretty impressive career, with more than 250 TV and film credits under his belt!
In addition to Seinfeld, Bill Erwin appeared on a variety of TV shows, including “Leave It to Beaver,” “I Love Lucy,” “Gunsmoke,” “The Andy Griffith Show,” “Twilight Zone,” “The Fugitive,” “Perry Mason,” “Growing Pains,” “Who’s the Boss?” “Married With Children” and “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”
You may also remember Bill Erwin for his role in “Somewhere in Time,” or perhaps you’ve seen one of his cameos in John Hughes’ films (Planes, Trains and Automobiles, She’s Having a Baby, Home Alone, and Dennis the Menace).
Bill Erwin died on December 29; he has two daughters, two sons and eight grandchildren.
