Remembering Mike Destfano of Last Comic Standing (VIDEO)

By Natalie |

44-year-old Mike DeStefano, a comedian who became well known after becoming a finalist last year on Last Comic Standing, has died of a heart attack.

DeStefano also appeared on Drugs, Disease and Death: A Comedy, which was based on being HIV positive as well as his past drug addiction and his wife’s death. He finished fourth during Season 7 of the NBC comedy show Last Comic Standing. His audition can be seen here.

On his website, there is information about his drug addiction. He began using heroin when he was 15 years old. He’d been clean for about the last year. While working as a drug counselor in Florida when he was 31 years old, he offered to entertain the audience at a convention. Following a very positive response, he decided to start his career in stand-up.

He will be missed by many.
