Remembering Romina Yan: Fans Pay Tribute To Mom of Three On Twitter

Remembering Romina Yan

Romina Yan, the gorgeous star of “Jugate Conmigo” and “Chiquititas” and the Argentinean host of Playhouse Disney, has passed away at age 36. This is truly shocking news: Yan was only 36 years old and seemingly in good health, but she reportedly died of a heart attack. Romina Yan’s hijos (children), were unfairly robbed of a mom who grew up in show business. Read on to see fans’ tributes and her biography.

She made her debut on television at age 16 in “Jugate Conmigo,” appearing as a dancer. Her real name was Romina Yankelevich De Giaccomi, but she changed it for the stage. Her dad and mom, Gustavo Yankelevich and Cris Morena, were also actors as well as producers and directors, and Cris Morena later launched the kids’ soap opera “Chiquititas,” which Yan starred in. Show business was really in her blood: brother Tomás Yankelevich is a screenwriter.

Yan apparently fainted, and a friend drove her to the hospital. They tried to revive her for 45 minutes, but alas it was too late.

Shocked fans are paying tribute to Yan on Twitter:

@pamigobra: que fea sensación ver a Romina Yan en la 3ra temporada de CA x tlf internacional, porqueeeeeee???

@lauragrato: Terrible lo de Romina Yan!!! no se puede creer!!!!

@vanivazquez: La verdad que estoy sin palabras. Esto que siento no se puede explicar. Gracias por hacerme reir, por enseñarme a soñar Romina Yan.

Yan leaves behind her husband of more than a decade, Darío Giordano, and three kids: Franco (born 2001), Valentín (born 2003) and Azul (born 2006). Our condolences to them in their unexpected loss.
