Remembering Sopranos Mafia Mom and Wife Denise Borino-QuinnEmma Brady
The Sopranos fans are mourning the death of actress Denise Borino-Quinn, who played the role of Ginny Sacrimoni on the HBO drama. The actress played the role of mafia mom and wife on the show from 2001 – 2007. She died earlier this week at the age of 46 following a long battle with liver cancer.
Bornino-Quinn won the role on the award winning series after auditioning at an open casting call in 2000. She had originally attended the cast session to support a friend who was trying out for the show and was amazed when she was selected from the thousands of wannabe mobsters for a supporting character on the show.
Her personal difficulties with an ongoing weight problem became a focus of her character on the series. Bornino-Quinn’s outgoing personality and real-life persona soon established a following with fans of the show.
She is survived by her parents, two brothers, two sisters-in-law, and four nieces. Her husband, Luke Quinn Jr., died earlier this year.
