Review: 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2' Doesn't Live Up To Expectations

harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2 review
Daniel Radcliffe ends his run as Harry Potter.

The magical world of Harry Potter that we’ve been so graciously welcomed into every year or two has finally come to a close after eight films and a decade-long run. But did the final chapter serve as a fitting closing or a disappointing letdown?

Being the closing chapter of a decade-long epic series, it’d be hard for any finale to live up to a “proper sendoff” and unfortunately, this closer failed with the task at hand.

One major problem that the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 suffered from was the eight-month break from its first part. All the emotional buildup that the first part accomplished was lost in translation.

There are a lot of elements from the book that fail to translant into film appropriately including the loss of fan favorite characters, Snape’s emotional backstory, and Harry’s procession to his destined confrontation with Voldemort.

But, the upside is in the wonder of seeing Harry, Hermione, Ron, and every other character’s transformation throughout the series.

Save your money and wait to watch both Part 1 and Part 2 back to back on Blu Ray!
