RHONJ Danielle Staub Sympathizes With Attacker

People, I am a recent Real Housewives of New York City fanatic, so I tried to watch an episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey. I really did. Hey, I’m from New Jersey, I’m Italian and I’m a housewife (sort of). I should be among kindred spirits, right? Wrong. This train wreck is like watching the RHONY’s distant, criminal, inbred cousins. Can’t do it. So you won’t see me writing any recaps of RHONJ (all the pinot grigio in Ramona Singer’s refrigerator isn’t enough to dull the pain). But I can report that assault victim  — and bad plastic surgery victim — Danielle Staub relates to Ashley Holmes, her co-star’s daughter who was charged with assaulting her. Well, she’s the forgiving type, I’ll give her that.

“I was there at one point in my life,” Staub told PEOPLE. “I can see in her a lot of what I was headed towards.”

The question is, does Danielle see where she HAS headed? Yikes.

“Hopefully she’s at that crossroads where she’ll take the high road and she’ll make the right choices,” Staub said.

She added that she hopes that all the children of RHONJ won’t go down the path that she took when she was young.  “I’d hate to see any of their children make the decisions I made that were wrong at such an early age in their life,” Staub said. “It’ll change them forever.”

If you want to see the assault of Staub play out on television, tune into RHONJ on July 12. I’ll be doing something more pleasant, like pulling my fingernails out with pliers.
