Rick Sanchez Fired: CNN Fires Sanchez Over Controversial Comments
Well, that was fast. Rick Sanchez has been fired from CNN after Sanchez made controversial comments on the “Stand Up with Pete Dominick” radio show Thursday (see video clip below).
CNN issued the following statement about the anchor: “Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.”
Ouch.
CNN fired Rick Sanchez following the comments he made on the radio show, calling Jon Stewart a “bigot” and noting that CNN and other networks are all run by Jewish people.
Dominick pointed out that Jon Stewart could understand minority viewpoints because he is Jewish, to which Sanchez responded, “He’s such a minority, I mean, you know [sarcastically]… Please, what are you kidding? … I’m telling you that everybody who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart, and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart, and to imply that somehow they — the people in this country who are Jewish — are an oppressed minority? Yeah. [sarcastically].”
Sanchez and his wife, Suzanne, have four children.
Do you think CNN was right to fire Rick Sanchez?

This latest comment is hardly the most idiotic thing Rick Sanchez has ever said. My grandmother called it, “walking off and leaving it running.” Hope they get someone halfway decent to replace him – NOT Spitzer.
no he should not have been fired at all… hope he sues cnn. won’t watch cnn anymore.
It’s about time. Maybe I will start to watch again. He really left a bad taste in my mouth, all the time.
yeah, i never liked rick sanchez anyway…he seemed to be too biased to be a news anchor. I prefer my news to be politically neutral. And that is why i’ve stopped watching CNN altogether. maybe i’ll try watching them again.
