Ricky Gervais rocked the Golden Globes 2011 but did everyone think so? Watch the video below.
He kicked off Sunday’s Golden Globes by making a few Charlie Sheen jokes, then went on to poke fun at The Tourist and Hugh Hefner.
“Everything this year was three-dimensional, except the characters in the Tourist,” Gervais says. “I feel bad about that joke. I’m jumping on the bandwagon, because I haven’t even seen that movie. Who has?”
Gervais joked about Scarlett Johannsen who presented the first award of the evening. About her, Gervais said: “Beautiful, talented, and Jewish, apparently. Mel Gibson told me that. He’s obsessed.”
Hey, at least he offered some humor throughout the night along with Robert Downey Jr. who was risqué with his presenting style.
Anything is better than Colin Firth’s monotone and unexciting acceptance speech!
But was Gervais mean-spirited or hilarious? At one point during the awards, he was nowhere to be seen. I was wondering if they had axed him!
Either the awards show was short for time, or he was too raunchy with his jokes.
Finally, Gervais came back on near the end of the awards show, just in time to make another joke. And at the end, to thank God although he’s an athiest.
What did you think of Ricky Gervais?
