If you planned on visiting Rhinebeck, N.Y, this weekend, I’d make a change of plans. And if you live there? Get out of town now! The Wall Street Journal reports that federal, state and local officials are expected to announce tomorrow that roads in the area will be temporarily closed due to Chelsea Clinton’s estimated $2 million wedding.
“We’ll be urging people to find alternate routes around the Rhinebeck area,” said New York State Police Maj. Michael A. Kopy. “We’re expecting a significant influx of media to the area.”
In addition, the New York Times reports that the Federal Aviation Administration announced it would place a temporary ban on flights below 2,000 feet for the area surrounding the estate where Clinton will marry Marc Mezvinsky. The ban will be in effect from 3 p.m. on Saturday until 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.
What do you think? If you lived in Rhinebeck would you be excited for this event or think it’s a big hassle? I’d be in the latter camp.
