Rob Lowe, Matt Dillon, or John Stamos the New "Charlie" on Two and a Half Men?

By Natalie |

We’ve all had more than our share of Charlie Sheen drama lately, and some of us are in mourning that Two and a Half Men just will never be as good without the Charlie character keeping things interesting. But CBS is looking for another actor to join the cast, and rumor has it Rob Lowe, Matt Dillon and John Stamos are all being considered.

Creator of the show, Chuck Lorre, is allegedly looking for a new character for Two and a Half Men and wants to keep the show going. There has been no word on whether the Charlie Sheen role will be recast or if the show will take a new direction with a new character entering the scene.

Well, the Matt Dillon rumor can be put to bed, unfortunately. Although he’d make an amazing addition to the cast, his publicist, Staci Wolfe, recently said about the rumor: ”No truth to it.”

John Stamos, one of the actors that was rumored to have been approached to join the cast joked “Contrary to the rumors, I am not replacing Charlie Sheen on Two and aHalf Men. However, Martin Sheen has asked me to be his son.”

Unconfirmed reports have also claimed that Lowe’s agents have been approached by the Two and a Half Men team. Problem there is that Lowe may have already begun production on the NBC series Parks and Recreation for its new season.

And even with all of these rumors whirling around, CBS and Lorre still remain tight lipped and have not commented about the casting inquiries.
