Robert Louis Stevenson Google Doodle Celebrates Treasure Island Author

robert louis stevensonAhoy!  Google Doodle is marking the 160th birthday of author Robert Louis Stevenson with a pirate themed doodle in reference to his classic children’s book Treasure Island.  

The doodle which made its debut on Saturday features a pirate, pirate ship, the coveted chest of gold, and skull and crossbones flag.

Stevenson works have been loved by readers young and old for generations.  His works include Treasure IslandKidnapped, and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Robert Louis Stevenson joins a growing group of icons to which Google has paid homage with its doodle in recent months.  He joins Dizzie Gillespie, John Lennon, and Scooby Doo in receiving his very own doodle.
