Rosie O'Donnell and Her Fiancee Want a Baby Now!

Ready for marriage - and motherhood!

The whirlwind romance of Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds continues to pick up speed. Although they didn’t tie the knot over the holidays, as rumor had it, they’re still very much committed – so much so that they want a baby together as soon as possible!

On her talk show today, Rosie confided to celeb-u-doc Dr. Mehmet Oz that Michelle “is trying to get pregnant.”

Michelle, a New York headhunter who met the star at a Starbucks last fall, has reportedly been seeing a fertility specialist. A source tells Us Magazine, “Rosie goes to all of her doctors’ appointments with her and is really supportive. She’s not pregnant yet, but they hope as soon as possible she will be.”

There are a couple of reasons why Michelle and Rosie might want to become parents before they exchange wedding rings.

First, there’s the age factor. Michelle may look 28 – as Rosie initially thought when they met – but she’s actually 40, and her eggs are becoming scarcer and less viable. Her risk of miscarriage rises as well. When a woman in midlife gets the baby lust, time is of the essence.

Second, there’s Rosie’s family. She has four children with her ex-wife, Kelli Carpenter, and the excitement over a new baby could help the kids bond with their new stepmother.

Although some reports say that certain family members oppose of their relationship – most notably Michelle’s parents, who weren’t even aware their daughter was gay – it looks like the talk-show queen and her beloved are in it for the long haul.

What do you think? Should Rosie and Michelle have a baby before they get married?
