Rosie O'Donnell's Talk Show Fails, Not A Life Saver For OWNChris Rogers
In what was once deemed as the future cornerstone of The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), The Rosie Show, hosted by none other than Rosie O’Donnell, failed to meet its high expectations during its debut Monday evening (Oct. 10).
The show opened with a 10-minute stand-up bit that led to an awkward song and dance routine with Suze Orman and an orchestra of shirtless male dancers. (We’re not joking.)
I actually thought it couldn’t get any worse until Rosie started unintentionally(?) and robotically impersonating Oprah. And where were the koosh balls? We wanted koosh balls!
And let’s not get started on her first guest Russel Brand. Is that the bar you wish to set, Rosie?
From start to finish, and I say this with much disappointment, The Rosie Show seemed to not know its own (no pun intended) identity. Instead of saving OWN, this talk show, which was wrongly scheduled at 7PM, needs a lifesaver of its very own.
What did you think of Rosie’s return?
