Rosie Pope Dishes on her 5 Mommy Must Haves and The Launch of Her Book Mommy IQ (Photos)

Rosie Pope and Family

I had the pleasure of meeting Rosie almost 3 years ago. I was thowing Ana Ortiz’s baby shower and we wanted to find her the perfect outfits for her People and Pregnancy Magazine photo shoot. When Ana and I walked into Rosie Pope Maternity and met Rosie, we just knew there was something special in the air. I can remember it like it was yesterday. Ana’s eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store. There were just so many incredible options and I…well I was incredibly jealous to not have had Rosie Pope Maternity as an option on the west coast! Luckily, even though I won’t be having more babies earlier this year Rosie opened a west coast store!

I had a chance to sit down with Rosie last week while she was in LA on tour with her new book MOMMY IQ: The Complete Guide to Pregnancy.   In MOMMY IQ: The Complete Guide to Pregnancy (Click here to buy), Rosie shares what she learned (mainly the hard way!) about the nine-month marathon to motherhood. With impeccable advice from the experts she trusts—including the man who delivered her three gorgeous children, Dr. Amos Grunebaum, Director of Obstetrics and the Chief of Labor and Delivery at the New York Weill Cornell Medical Center. Written with her signature verve and humor, Rosie tackles all the worries on the minds of every expectant mother, from prenatal testing to morning sickness, from how to have safe sex (and feel sexy) with a humungous belly, to how to know when it’s really time for the main event. In this nonjudgmental guide, Rosie provides all of the information to help you make the right decisions for you—without the usual pressure other books and websites can create for new moms.

Rosie, we go back about 3 years! In Such a short amount of time you have launched a TV show, had 2 babies, opened a Los Angeles store and released a book. How do you manage it all? I’ve learned to juggle everything by adhering to a strict schedule, having a great support team and knowing that I can’t have it all in a day but I can over a longer period of time.  That means I make sure in a week to have really great quality time with my kids and husband and also time for work and myself.

Did you ever think this would be where you are today?  I don’t think about life like that.  I just try and do the very best that I can everyday and hope that in the end it will all be worth it for my family.

What do you hope MOMMY IQ will do for moms to be?  Give them all the confidence and knowledge they deserve as they enter into Motherhood.

Is there one piece of advice you wish you would have listened to when pregnant?  I wish I had enjoyed my pregnancy more instead of constantly waiting for my due date to come.  It is a good time to rest and focus on yourself.

What are your top 5 mommy must have’s for a new born?  Swaddle clothes, microwave sterilizer bags, bassinet with wheels, car seat with adaptable stroller base, Clarins beauty flash balm for momma
