Sarah Streeter: It Took Years For Father Rod Stewart To Acknowledge Her

Rod Stewart

Sarah Streeter and father Rod Stewart Reunite

Sarah Streeter is a 47-year old grown woman, and she is also singer Rod Stewart’s eldest child. Of course, we are just now hearing about Sarah Streeter, as father Rod Stewart gave her up for adoption when he was in his late teens.

According to Rod Stewart, he gave her up because he was “stone broke” and knew that he was unable to properly care for her.

Sarah Streeter told The Daily Mail that ,”There’s no anger there. I never was angry about what happened really, just sad. But now I’m older I see things differently and realize that it has been as difficult for him over the years as it has been for me. Now we’re at the start of a new chapter, and that’s wonderful.”

That’s all well and good, but it seems strange that Sarah is now changing her tune about her biological father. Back in 2006, Streeter was devastated after seeing pictures of Stewart holding his new son, Alastair, his child with Penny Lancaster.

At that point in her life she said, “He forgets how many children he has in interviews. It breaks my heart that I have a whole family out there who I will probably never get to meet.”

She also added that Rod didn’t acknowledge her as his child and was once quoted in an interview saying, “You can count her if you want. I try not to.”

Hopefully things have changed and this is a happy reunion for Sarah Streeter and Rod Stewart. But judging from the way things were a few years ago, we can’t help but wonder if this is sadly all for publicity.
