If this were still the year 2003, I would totally agree with the title of this post. Or maybe…
According to MTV, Grand Budapest Hotel actor Bill Murray is their choice for this year’s “Sexiest Man Alive.” That’s right, Adam Levine needs to take a step to the left and take a seat!
According to their website, they said that it’s Bill’s personality, his sense of humor and his Ghostbustin‘ ways that won him this year’s title. They write on their site:
“Here at MTV News, we know sexy. And our standards do not include an analysis of abs on a scale of one to lactic acid overload, nor do we have an institutional bias toward white teeth or charming smiles. If the word “chiseled” describes either your physique or good looks, congratulations. We didn’t really notice.”
Point well taken.
But I’ll be honest in saying that the last time I found Bill Murray remotely sexy was when he starred in 2003’s Lost in Translation opposite Scarlett Johansson. While I’ll agree that he’s an amazing actor, I really don’t think of him that much unless it’s Groundhog Day or when I hear about people getting arrested in golf carts in Sweden.
I guess the only way I’m going to fully understand this out-of-the-blue nomination is if I see Bill again in The Monuments Men, which he co-stars in opposite George Clooney and Matt Damon.
Thoughts, Babble readers? Now that MTV has put Bill Murray back on our radar, do you think he might become People’s Sexiest Man Alive this year as well?
