Scientology: 8 Celebrity Families Who Are Scientologists...Some May Suprise You! (Photos)

Scientologist King and Queen - Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise

When one thinks of Tom Cruise, many don’t conjure up images of Top Gun or Risky Business but rather their minds go to the fact that Tom Cruise is a very dedicated Scientologist. And he isn’t the only one. There are a whole slew of Hollywood movers and shakers who are members of the Church of Scientology and follow the spiritual teachings of the sci-fi author L. Ron Hubbard. Their headquarters are even in Southern California and the largest church is smack dab in the middle of Hollywood, making it easy for recruitment and for keeping those tinsel town converts busy.

From the get-go L. Ron Hubbard knew that celebrities would be a key part of his plan. In 1955 he reportedly started Project Celebrity where he made a list of 63 famous people that he wanted to have join his church, knowing they could have sway with the general public. But even with A-list members, scientology is a controversial subject with detractors, defectors and defenders galore.

So what Hollywood families proudly stay true to Scientology and are passing their beliefs on to their children? Check out these 8 Hollywood Scientologist families:
