Sex and the City Stars Come Out for Sick Baby

On Saturday, a host of celebrity moms and other stars, including the cast of Sex and the City, will head to Brooklyn to attend a benefit for a 9-month old baby with a rare type of brain cancer.

Dubbed ‘Minty Python’, the event is a fund raiser for a family dealing with every parent’s worst nightmare. The 9-month old Minty is the daughter of Mei-Lei Hippisley-Coxe, a crew member who worked in the wardrobe department on Sex and the City 2. Minty has anaplastic ependymoma, and has had six rounds of chemotherapy to try shrink her tumors–to no avail. Now Minty is set to undergo an experimental procedure, and a bunch of celebrity moms and dads are helping out at a fund raiser intended to pay for additional treatment for Minty, and other kids like her, who are fighting their own battles with cancer.

The best part? It’s open to the public. So if you are interested in helping out–and hob-nobbing with Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Tina Fey, Naomi Watts, Rachel Weisz, Ted Danson and many others–you can buy a ticket and attend. Or, just donate here. The Sex and the City girls will also be auctioning off a bunch of items, including  jewelry Sarah Jessica Parker has collected over the years.

Obviously, its really hard to think about a kid this young facing a fight with cancer. But it is inspiring to see so many Hollywood names come to her aid. it must be the coolest part about being a celebrity mom–knowing that you can reach out to another mom who is suffering through something like this and lend a hand. Minty’s story has already gotten a lot of attention. Hopefully, its will make a difference.
