Shane Hmiel is a former NASCAR driver who was critically hurt in an accident this past Saturday at the United States Auto Club Silver Crown race in Indiana, when his car hit the outside wall of the track and rolled several times.
The Terre HauteTribune Star reports that Hmiel has suffered head injuries after the roll cage in his car was damaged in the crash. Hmiel’s mother knows that there are lots of fans and family members who are concerned so she’s started a facebook page to keep everyone updated on his progress.
The Shame Hmiel- Road to Recovery facebook page already has over 5700 people following and on the page his mother’s most recent post stated;
‘Update from Shane’s mom Lisa – shane update. waiting ti go to surgery. 5-7 hrs. been sleeping a lot but nodding when I yell and make him hear me. imagine my big mouth. he is probably and hopefully telling me to shut the hell up under his breath. this surgery is very critical and long and serious. prayers r greatly appreciated.
