So, I had to check out the CW’s latest reality tv show: Shedding for the Wedding.
Basic premise: engaged couples who are overweight compete for the ultimate dream wedding while they are in training and losing weight.
See details on the first show:
We met the couples and heard about their dream weddings. Sara Rue is the adorably sweet host and then we meet the scary trainers.
The brides-to-be get to try on wedding gowns: the couple who wins the first challenge gets their dream gown and tux. The couples must dance(or really just run around) and their combined heart rate needs to be above a certain rate or they are eliminated. That heart rate is raised with each song.
The couples also had to create a healthy meal. They had a couple workouts before the first weigh in, too.
The couples are weighed in together and the two couples with the lowest percentage of weight loss are up for elimination and are in a “to death do us part” face-off.
Worth watching? It is basically the Biggest Loser. And there are lots of other reality tv shows to compete with it on Wednesday nights. My first and probably last night watching.
I’d rather watch American Idol; how about you?
