Not too long ago, Chaz Bono, who just underwent gender reassignment surgery to become a man, hinted that he thought that Shiloh Jolie-Pitt may have gender identity issues. It’s no secret that Shiloh prefers to dress like her older brothers, and we haven’t seen her in a girly outfit since she was just a toddler.
Shiloh is celebrating her fifth birthday today, and it is unlikely that we will know whether or not she is just in a tomboy phase or whether something deeper is going on until she is much older. However, there may be some similarities between Shiloh’s childhood, and how Chaz Bono acted growing up as a girl.
Chaz told Jay Leno that he preferred to be called “Fred”, as a little girl, instead of Chastity, which was his birth name. Back in 2008, Brad Pitt told Oprah Winfrey that Shiloh insisted on being called “John.” Is there any sort of correlation between the two?
Shiloh was only about two years-old when she wanted to be referred to as John, and Brad Pitt attributed it to the fact that she loved the movie Peter Pan. Would a two year-old honestly know the difference between a boy name and a girl name?
Personally, I still think that Shiloh just looks up to her brothers and wants to dress and act like they do. I guess only time will tell whether her boyish look is just a phase.
